Dmitry Sotnikov has officially spilled the beans regarding the release of Quest PowerGUI 1.6 on his blog. All sorts of cool new features in there. My personal favorite being Dockable Windows. I hate being limited by applications that assume you are working in 1280x1024 (or worse, 1024x768) resolution. With the dockable windows I can use the full power of my multiple monitors and view my app how I want to. There are quite a few debugger and editor modifications as well, which make this definitely worther of a download. Ton conincide with the release of PowerGUI 1.6 Quest also released an important update to version 2.0.3 of their VMware PowerPack.
This is the slightly confusing part. Version 2.0 and 2.0.1 of the VMware PowerPack will ONLY work with PowerGUI Version 1.5.3. This is due to some workarounds that had to be placed into the PowerPack itself to properly function in PowerGUI 1.5. Version 2.0.3 of the VMware PowerPack removes these workarounds that are no longer necessary, so will only be able to run in PowerGUI 1.6. For those that experience issues after the PowerGUI upgrade, always make sure you checkout the PowerPack page to see what helse has been updated! If you are unsure about compatibility, the table below should hopefully clarify everything.
VMware PowerPack Version
| PowerGUI Version
| | 1.X | 1.5.X | | 2.0 | 1.5.3 | | 2.0.1 | 1.5.3 | | 2.0.3 | 1.6 |
