UPDATE: I JUST got an email from the publisher with the following information: I just talked to Brian, and we outlined the final steps of the process to get this book printed. Our goal is to have this thing wrapped up and at the printer by next Friday (6/6)
This means we are about 5-6 weeks out from this showing up at people's doors and it will be available for actual order soon. I've been flooded with emails lately, as have friends of mine who are simply associated with the book for reasons of technical editing or they simply know me very well. I know I've said it before and you are probably sick of hearing it, but we are close to done. The content has been completed for some time. Anyone who read the first book knows that we had a LOT of grammatical errors in it, and it took quite a bit of time to clean that up this time around. Throw Mike Laverick into the mix, and heaven help the person that needs to edit this thing. It's still not perfect, but will be significantly better than the first book.
There are several reasons for the delays, and I figure I may as well be as honest as possible. Anyone who has authored before can understand the idea of deadlines, and of course, pushing the limits of the deadlines. Well, we didn't just push the limits, we knocked them off the map and blew them by months. This of course messed up the publisher, who is busy planning for the big BriForum event in Chicago next month. We have to respect the schedule of the publisher, especially as the deadlines that were posted were for this very reason. As of today, we have all submitted our Bios and our Acknowledgments to the publisher, which is always the final piece that is completed prior to sending the book to the printer. I've been trying to make sure Amazon gets properly updated, but that is a much harder task than it seems when you miss a date by a few (8) months. For those interested, you can find details about the book on its Amazon page. As soon as you can actually order it, I will update this site with the final links, etc. |
