I wanted to give those of you have previously asked about, or had your Barnes and Noble orders cancelled an update on the release of the new book. I just received word today that the publisher is anticipating that the final PDF will be sent off to the printer within a 2 week period. This date is flexible, but I do have it on good authority that it will be accurate within a day or two. I still do not know exactly when the book will be available on Amazon.com, but as soon as I see it, rest assured I will tell the world about it here.
Once the book gets to the printer it will require some time to print a fairly large batch of books and have them sent to the distributor. From there they will make their way to the retail outlets such as Amazon and local retailers. The combined process could take as long as 4-6 weeks from the date the final copy is sent to the printer.
For those fortunate enough to be attending VMworld Europe in Cannes, France at the end of this month, there will be a giveaway sponsored by Vizioncore of 20 pre-release “Author’s Edition” copies. This version is after the initial grammatical editing and prior to the publisher removing content to get the book to a more manageable size. It is still possible that one or two spelling or grammar mistakes will slip through (we are only human), but the additional content should more than make up for it.
I want to personally thank everyone for their continued interest in the book and the kind words of encouragement which have helped us drive the publisher to getting this completed.
